MIRELLI

Mirelli is a pretty Central Anatolian kilim. Hand-woven on village and nomadic looms in vivid, naturally dyed colours, Turkish kilim weaving is a tradition stretching back thousands of years. Kilims were woven for the practicalities of daily life and used as floor and wall coverings, storage bags, and prayer mats. Mirelli is dotted with the classic Anatolian star motif, long believed to symbolise happiness and fertility. The calming muted colours are framed by a striking pop of orange. 

Although we ensure that all rugs arrive professionally cleaned and in their best condition, due to the nature of antique and handmade rugs, some irregularities and signs of wear are to be expected.
